Ministry of Defense: new hangars for military aircraft have been provided

The improvement of the situation in the Air Force was achieved by investing in the improvement of the material situation of the pilots and pilots, mainly through the increase of salaries, the process of training and continuous development, the acquisition of modern aircraft and funds, the investments in the construction of new infrastructure and the renovation of existing ones in military airports.

According to the statement, along with the acquisition of new aircraft such as MiG-29 aircraft, Mi-35, Mi-17 and X-145M helicopters, care was taken to provide adequate conditions for their storage and maintenance.

“The construction of the hangar with the battery station at the Pilot Sergeant Mihajlo Petrovic military airport in Nis, although planned as a three-year project in the period from 2018 to 2020, was completed ahead of schedule, in 2019,” said the Ministry.

The purpose of this hangar, they affirmed, is in addition to housing the H-145M and Mi-35 helicopters, to allow the maintenance of the aircraft and to create quality working conditions, space to store tools and materials.

“Immediately next to the hangar facility, a battery station was built, which is connected to the hangar by a connecting canopy, and in which there is space for inspection and service of batteries with the necessary content in the equipment located at the airport, “the statement said.

The construction works of the hangar for the accommodation of the MiG-29 aircraft in service in the Air Defense and Air Defense Air Defense System at the Coronel – pilot Milenko Pavlović military airport in Batajnica, are in the final phase, therefore the conditions for the plane will be given. made possible less stress on humanity, they added and pointed out that the influence of climatic factors will be minimized.

“From the investments in infrastructure at the Morava civic-military airport near Kraljevo, progress is being made in the reconstruction of reinforced concrete shelters to accommodate aircraft, and the reconstruction of the runway and the construction of the light signaling, “the statement read.

The Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army also stated that they would continue to invest in the development of the Air Force and Air Defense Equipment, as well as take care of all the resources at their disposal, because only a strong Serbian Army is a guarantor of peace and stability for all Serbian citizens.
