The winner of the Yugoslav Golden Pen award for best film critic, journalist Danka Nikolić, passed away today in Prague.
Longtime journalist in the Belgrade Television Information Program, reporter and film critic, author of documentaries for Documentary Evening, she was expelled from Belgrade Television in January 1993. Danka Nikolić later moved to Prague to work for Free Europe.
She is the author of the prose war documentary “Letters from two Sarajevos” and a textbook on the cultural life of Prague. Three years ago, he translated “Escapes” by Jirži Škvorecki (Clio, Belgrade 2017). Danka Nikolić and her husband Omer Karabeg have lived in the Czech Republic for a long time.
