According to state management announcements, the incomes of older fellow citizens could increase by six percent starting in January. This means that the average pension, which was 27,775 dinars in June, with an increase of six per cent in January, would have increased by 1,666 dinars and amounted to about 29,440 dinars.
– As announced by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, from January 1, according to the “Swiss formula”, pensions will increase significantly, and after they have increased by 5.4 percent this year according to the same formula. We want them to grow even more, which is why we plan to discuss the correction of the Swiss formula at the next meeting with the IMF, so that they can reach the expected 430-440 euros. Our public finances are stable even in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, and thanks to the fact that we entered the crisis fully prepared, with a budget surplus and a low public debt – says Finance Minister Siniša Mali exclusively for “Alo! “.
Let us remind you that President Vučić said the day before yesterday that pension growth could be six per cent, which would be the highest growth in recent years. According to him, that means that older citizens who had a pension of 30,000 dinars in 2012 will have an income of 40,000 dinars. Those who had low pensions of 20,000 dinars in 2012 will now have 27,499, representing an increase of 37.5 percent. He added that we must not forget that pensioners, as well as all adult citizens, meanwhile, received 100 euros, in addition to a one-time assistance.
By the way, the statistics of current income of pensioners show that about one million pensioners in Serbia have income of up to 30,000 dinars. Of that, half a million receives between 10,000 and 20,000 dinars, which with a possible six percent increase in pensions will be higher than 600 to 1,200 dinars.
6,685 or 0.4 percent of the elderly can boast a pension of more than 90,000 dinars, and 4,153 or 0.2 percent of all pensioners can boast a pension of more than 100,000.
Seen by cities and municipalities, on average, retirees living in the Savski Venac municipality in Belgrade receive the most. They are 45,927 and have an average pension of 44,662 dinars. The average for all of Belgrade, where more than 400,000 pensioners live, is 36,129 dinars. Pensioners receive less in Mali Crnić, where there are 1,893 of them, and on average they receive 13,846 dinars each.
For farmers, the average pension is 11,884.75 dinars and, with an increase of six per cent, it will be 13,551.25 dinars.
On Monday, on raising the minimum
Finance Minister Siniša Mali says “Hello!” That, regarding the amount of the minimum wage, negotiations with unions and employers are coming to an end.
– So, on Monday, September 14, we will announce exactly how much that increase will be. Last year, the price of the minimum wage was increased by 3,000 dinars, which is the largest increase in the absolute amount in history. Given the specific situation in the conditions of the pandemic, the state will now bear most of the burden, and in order to reduce the burden on employers and maintain full employment, Minister Mali said.
