This is what Danijela Drljić, the mother of the tragically injured teenager Dragan (15), whose lifeless body was pulled from the muddy river by divers on Wednesday, told us on Thursday, sitting crying on the Tamiški pier in Pancevo. The disappearance of the child was denounced by the inconsolable mother the day before, because she went to ride her bicycle by the river, and did not return or answer her mobile phone for a long time. Supposedly he left farewell letters, and now it is speculated if the reason for the tragedy could have been the break with the girl.
Danijela arrived on the banks of the Tamis on Thursday with a candle, a photo of Dragan and the message “Angel of a broken heart.” For the rest of his son’s soul, he lit a candle right where he found his bike.
As he told us, his son jumped off the railroad bridge over the Thames. Determined to “go as painlessly as possible,” as he wrote in his farewell letter, he placed stones in the backpack on his back.
– During his life, he was betrayed many times and his heart was often broken. His father was not with him, but he will come to the funeral: Dragan’s mother is inconsolable. – I’m in contact with her best friend and her parents. She is a wonderful girl, Dragan looked at her like a sister. The girl he broke up with was his disappointment, but it’s not his fault. That’s their shape, that’s what they wanted.
As Daniela told us, she had a wonderful relationship with her son. Above all, he trusted her.
– I tried to solve all his problems, I always fought for him. Unfortunately this time he didn’t say anything to me, I knew he would do anything just to make it feel good. I have no reason to live, but I have to be strong for him, I know that would be important to him – says Daniela.
At the Mechanics School in Pancevo, which the injured teenager attended, students are still in shock from Dragan’s suicide.
– We are older than him, but we know what it is like when your first love disappoints you, but we don’t understand why he did this. Today, we talked at school about what happened, and it is not clear to us if it is possible that he was so hurt that he decided to take that step, a student from the School of Mechanics told us.
EX GIRL
Dragan’s ex-girlfriend called Danijela on Wednesday when she found out what had happened and said she was sorry for everything. The inconsolable mother, however, told her not to call her and not to come.
“It’s not her fault, but I don’t have the strength to see or hear her,” says Daniela.
