A grant agreement was signed today with the Government of Serbia in connection with the realization and financing of the Belgrade metro project between the governments of Serbia and France.
Vesić stated that, according to the agreement, the Government of France will donate 8.3 million euros, on the basis of which the company Egis will begin to design a feasibility study with a preliminary design and an environmental protection study for the first phase of the first metro line.
“When this work is completed, the conditions will be met for the building permit to be issued and for the construction of the Belgrade metro to begin. We are doing everything possible to start construction by the end of 2021,” Vesić said.
The city is currently working on the Plan for the general regulation of railway systems, with detailed elaboration elements for the first phase of the first line of the metro system, as well as the Plan for the detailed regulation of Makiško polje, where it will begin the construction of the subway.
“The general regulation plan for railway systems will be adopted in early autumn, and the PDR for Makiško polje by the end of the year, and they are the basis for issuing construction permits for the construction of the metro,” Vesić said.
He adds that the City has already made the geological foundations for the needs of the Plan for the general regulation of railway systems in Belgrade, and a consultant has been selected for technical assistance and advice during the preparation of the technical documentation for the project.
A geotechnical study is being prepared for the project of the first phase of the first line of the Belgrade metro, and documentation is being prepared for the needs of conducting a tender for the design of metro stations.
