The Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Amfilohije, will be buried tomorrow, after the liturgy in the Cathedral of Podgorica.
No one has left such a large mark on the Serbian people of Montenegro, and it seems that the meaning of his monastic name determined what his life would be like.
Amfilohije was born as Risto Radović on Christmas Day 1938 at Bare Radovića in Donja Morača.
His broken name Risto is of Greek origin and means anointed.
He became a monk in 1967 in Greece, where he later became a hieroglyphic monk on July 21, 1968. He then took the monastic name of Amfilohije, which dates back to the ancient period.
