If you want to carry out a PCR test for coronavirus by personal request, you can do it in almost all health centers, institutes and institutes of public health in Serbia. This on-demand test will cost 6,000 dinars by the end of the year, and as of January 1, 2021, it will cost 3,000 more dinars.
Predrag Kon explained why testing will be more expensive from January on the morning show on TV Prva.
– The price of PCR tests has been debated for several months. In the Crisis Staff itself, the price was not discussed at all, that is something that has now been merged with this situation. It is important to know that a PCR test should be performed. Since we are doing the PCR test, it has been the cheapest in the region – said Kon, writes “Objektiv”.
When asked if the new price for the PCR test will lead to fewer people getting tested, Kon said: “To be honest, I haven’t thought about it. It is somewhat inexpensive, but it also has the targeting function. Whoever does that test is excluded because of the trip, perhaps because of the price, and gives up, which is good at the moment ”.
He emphasized that the price of the PCR test is not in the focus of an epidemiologist, as well as that this was not an issue in the crisis staff session.
The Government of Serbia has made the decision that the price of tests on personal request from January 1, 2021 will be 9,000 dinars, instead of 6,000, which is what is paid now.
“The price of the personal application tests for foreign citizens will be 18,000 dinars, while for Serbian citizens the price will remain unchanged until the end of the year and is 6,000 dinars. As of January 1, 2021, the price of the personal application tests for national citizens will be 9,000 dinars. ” the government said in a statement.
