An RTS worker who was injured this morning in a terrible explosion on Aberdareva Street in Belgrade was released for home treatment, the Public Service said.
A powerful detonation was heard in the morning. As RTS reported, a bottle of industrial gas exploded. A company worker who was engaged in the execution of works in the RTS building was killed instantly, while his colleague was seriously injured, as well as an RTS worker who was nearby at the time of the explosion.
– I was standing in the hallway when the two (workers) passed me. Only three or four minutes later I heard a loud explosion. I retired to the window and saw the two of them lying outside. I recognized by the suit that they were workers who passed me. I said “people, there are victims” – said one of the RTS witnesses.
A MP worker who normally works on the asphalt repair of the Fifth Gymnasium in Belgrade, told “Blic” today that he and his colleagues heard a loud noise and at that moment they ran.
– It was terrible. I saw when one of the workers was killed. The force of the explosion exploded a part of his head and body. I walked over and saw another worker screaming in panic and calling for help. He also had injuries. We called the ambulance – said the MP worker from “Blic”.
Due to the force of the explosion, the windows of the residential building near the parking lot were smashed, the cars were damaged, as well as the RTS building.
As RTS reports, teams are waiting to take the bottles that did not explode for analysis. In the coming days, the labor inspectorate will announce whether there were any omissions and why exactly the explosion occurred.
