Marinkovic, Ana Korac, Luna Djogani and others.
– It is suspected that the detainees made false profiles on social networks through which they scammed citizens throughout the region, and beyond, telling them that they had information about rigged sports matches. Believing them, the citizens sent them money and the fraudsters thus earned tens of thousands of euros. It is also suspected that the fake bookmakers advertised through certain celebrities allegedly paying them to post their profile on Instagram. Their goal was to attract as many gullible people as possible through famous singers, reality stars and reality stars, who have hundreds of thousands of followers, says a source in the investigation.
Let us remind you, a deluded woman from Slovenia called the Post in October last year and explained the modus operandi of these deluded people.
– This is a person who allegedly collaborates with people who organize second and third league soccer matches. The odds are mostly around 30, crosses are played, so if you invest 100 euros, you get 3,000 euros. Everyone who was in contact with me told me that they saw this ad through their idols. Many believed as soon as they saw that Kija, Sloba, Ljupka or Teodora were announcing it – TS said at the time
Anabela: I do not guarantee any product
The singer Anabela previously affirmed on this subject “that it is his thing what he will announce”.
– I never force him to bet, I just published my profile. I cannot guarantee any product. If I advertise the cream, maybe someone is allergic to the ingredients, and it suits me – explained Anabela.
As he explained, after seeing the ad on Instagram, he contacted the profile and paid 500 euros.
– Soon they congratulated me with a message and said that I had won 7,000 euros. Then they told me that the courier was sending me money, but first I had to send them 500 euros for the ticket. It was strange to me that they did not take that money from my winnings, but they justified themselves saying that the money was sealed and that the courier could not touch it. Of course, I did not pay more because I realized that I had been deceived – said the fraud victim, adding that the profile blocked her when it discovered that it was a fraud.
The detainees are suspected of fraud, extortion and money laundering.
The Republika Srpska police said they had searched 26 locations in Han Pijesak, Foca and eastern Sarajevo. Apart from the citizens of Serbia, the citizens of Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Austria, Switzerland and Germany are among the duped.
