It will take several years to get to know the coronavirus everywhere, but it is certain that we will not eradicate it, said Dr. Ana Gligić.
According to her, the forecasts were bad from the beginning, but they were also confirmed.
There are two ways: let the population get infected or receive the vaccine.
Dr. Ana Gligić said after the outbreak of the epidemic that we will never get rid of the crown, but that it will be reduced to some extent. She says that her opinion about it has not changed and that the virus is very inconvenient in the way it is transmitted.
Has your opinion changed seven months later, since the first case of a patient in our country?
– No, it hasn’t changed. This virus surprised me by its long duration compared to the experiences I have with this type of virus. He hoped this epidemic would end much earlier. However, when looking at the results we published with other similar viruses, I saw that with others it took longer than I predicted. This virus is a great unknown with many characteristics that are unusual for the virus. And that led to it appearing in epidemic and pandemic forms.
How does the virus mutate?
– This virus turned out to be very inconvenient in the way it was transmitted, we knew nothing about it and it was there somewhere. We did not know the mode of transmission, its behavior in the external environment. It is now known that all modes of transmission exist, except that we do not know if there is a food transmission route, which means that we take it with food. That is why we have so many cases. The result of its contagion is a large number of cases and the constant return and appearance of large peaks of this epidemic.
So how do you fight this virus?
– Either we will be infected from top to bottom, and the population is increasingly infected, or we will get the vaccine. Several vaccines are already in the final stages. It remains for us to let ourselves be infected naturally or receive the vaccine. Of course, the state doesn’t have an account to let us get sick, we need to get vaccinated and protect ourselves. The vaccines that have been talked about so far have the task of stopping the epidemic and the pandemic. They are made in a specific, not classical way. The goal is to stop the epidemic and then make a classic vaccine because we will not get rid of the crown. When I was asked in the first interview what I thought about the crown and how long it would last, I said that I have information from the literature that the prognosis is terrible, but I cannot say. It was exactly as they had predicted. There is a lot of crown, they are divided into four genera to facilitate their study, therefore the crown surrounds us, it is present in domestic animals, all animals have their own crown. This crown was formed by the leap of the species from nature and reached unnatural cells, and that is man. It has become pathogenic and transmissible.
Does lifetime immunity represent a vaccine made from the virus itself?
– Yes, a vaccine made from the virus itself. I have information that the Russians made two more vaccines yesterday. One was made in Koltsovo, an institute in Siberia, which is attenuated, which means that it was made from the virus that we are fighting, but in the laboratory we force it to weaken it under certain conditions and thus get a live attenuated vaccine. A vaccine of this type requires extensive research in the human population, mainly in animals.
What else surprised you about the crown? What is still unknown?
– I opposed the view that children get sick until children get sick. We are all sensitive to the crown and it all depends on immunity. The elderly have a weakened immune system and cannot react like children. We have many unrecognizable infections in children. They are carriers of the virus, but they are not recognized, and this is a great danger of spread.
This period reminded many of 1972, when smallpox was rampant. At that time you were the head of the laboratory for fighting this disease. Are there any similarities? How was the state struggling then compared to today?
– At that time, there were 500 deaths from smallpox in the world. This aroused great attention, we were connected in a worldwide network of laboratories that were ready to make a diagnosis at any time. We were able to find the source of infection at any time, and when smallpox arrived, we confirmed that all eight materials were positive. We knew that a very large epidemic was imminent. We stopped it in record time and now we can apply a lot of that epidemic to the crown. There are similarities between smallpox and crown. The mother died giving birth in Nis, the child remained alive. We have such a situation about smallpox. We had antibodies from the baby’s umbilical cord, so nature made sure that the species didn’t go extinct.
How do we deal with this virus?
– It is difficult to say anything in conclusion, because we do not know the virus. We do not know the true origin of this virus, we must first know it well. We only know that the reservoir in nature is a bat. We do not know who was the transmitter of the people. That will be known in a few years. The virological results remain to be seen so that we can know it from all sides, but it is certain that we will not eradicate it.
