By building such a circuit, we will get an additional incentive for the economic development of the whole of eastern Serbia and a better connection of local areas, said the director of the Serbian Corridor Aleksandar Antić during the abundance of the Sopot circuit near Pirot.

He indicated that in this area: from Niška Banja, through Bela Palanka, Pirot and Dimitrovgrad, 70 kilometers of existing state roads are being rehabilitated, which improves the existing road network that connects the highway with local and regional centers.

At both ends of the corridor, permanent slope stabilization works are being completed, and the team of experts performs daily measurements and monitoring of the stability of slopes and support structures. The southern branch of Corridor 10, connecting the north and south, and the section through the Grdelica Gorge is the most difficult construction project ever carried out in Serbia. Completion of permanent stabilization on slopes 2,3 and 4 is one of the Serbian corridor’s priorities, Antic said.
