Today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is touring the construction works of the bridge over South Morava (Moravian Corridor) near Stalac, which will be 248 meters long. Vučić emphasized that the works on the Moravian Corridor will be completed in three years, that is, in March 2024.

This will be one of the widest and most modern roads.

The Serbian president said today that a bridge is being built over the Morava, that the water level there is two meters higher, and that the entire area has had problems with flooding.

– We will only go to the waterways so that people do not face floods again, Serbia will pay 200 million euros for the regulation of the waterways. If someone had said before that the state could do that, they would have said they were phantasmagoria. I am proud that the works are progressing well. We are having trouble finding quality quarries and stone, but I think Trstenik and Banja will complete the remaining 20 percent of the expropriation. This will be one of the widest and modern roads fully digitized.

The Moravian corridor connects a large number of people, the president notes, adding that more tourists will come to Vrnjacka Banja.

Vučić said that many people participated in that construction site and praised the Bechtel – Enka contractor.

– I think that by the end of the year, that is, by January 2022, we will have a prepared road from Pojat to Kruševac to Makrešane. When I visit our construction sites, we have never had them in history, I am proud of our country. So far, we have invested 210 million euros of Serbian money from the budget in advances and in a smaller part of the situations that are being done on this highway. Now, without British money, 480 million, we could hardly accelerate like this – said Vučić and emphasized that this will bring investors and that it will be “Mecca and Medina” for them.

The Moravian corridor will be ready by March 2024

The president has indicated that the terrain is heavier than previously thought and that the works must be carried out with great care, but that the works of the Moravian Corridor will be completed in just three years, in March 2024, when it will be possible to arrive from Cacak to Nis. for up to an hour and a half, and from Kraljevo to Nis in one hour and 15 minutes.

– Everything between Kraljevo and Mrcajevac is complicated, around the regulation of the river flow, we had the biggest floods there. It is important to connect Kruševac with the highway, Belgrade and Niš and Kraljevo with the Čačak highway. Cacak gained a lot from these works, if we make a connection with Kragujevac, he will have a connection with the heart of Sumadija. This corridor is very important because it connects the east with the west, said the president during the course of the works.

In a conversation with representatives of the contractors, the American-Turkish consortium “Bechtel-Enka”, the president spoke about the dynamics of works for individual sections, deadlines and problem solving at the construction site. Vučić said that according to the contract, the first two sectors (from Pojat to the bridge over South Morava and Makrešane) have a September 2022 deadline, but he asked the contractor and received a promise that the works will be accelerated and they will be completed in the end of 2021. sector in the Pojate – Kruševac sections, up to the Koševi site to start the works in May or June.

– When it comes to finances, there are also our British friends who are helping us with the project – said the president.

– This will be the first digital highway built, it will have all the information, where it is slippery, where there are many people, it will have digital whiteboards. This is especially important because a large number of people live here, almost a million people, and this will be an opportunity to attract new investors, emphasizes the president.

Vučić called for the issuance of worker visas to be speeded up

Vučić called on Minister Momirović to speed up the procedure for issuing visas for workers to speed up the works.

– People here are waiting for the roads, and not if some people will sign a visa for the workers, so instead of issuing a visa for one day, it takes three months – Vučić told Minister Momirović.

He said it was useless for the country to be closed to workers involved in big projects.

“I’m not interested in your paperwork,” added Vucic.

He also requested that the expropriation of land be accelerated, so that the realization can be accelerated.

About easing measures

– I’m full and I can’t understand that kind of political shooting and that theme that politicians use to flatter people. I am in favor of listening to the profession, because for me a person living in this country is more important than whether or not someone will like what we do. I can’t stand to flatter people because everyone is waiting for action to be taken, and when someone’s bizak dies, then it’s the state’s fault. It is our job to protect lives, we have the softest measures possible. Everything is closed everywhere, only in Serbia await good news when we will abolish something.

The construction of Adrani-Mrčajevci will start soon

The president announced that construction works on the road to Kraljevo, sector 3 from Adran to Mrcajevac, will begin in a month. When asked whether construction of the road will begin on the Čačak-Karaljevo route, which was promised for this year, Vučić noted that, as he said, sector three, section eight and then section nine will start soon.

– Adrani-Mrčajevci will start in a month – he explained and pointed out that the arrangement of the waterways is important for Adrani, because they flood all the time.

When asked what happened to the rebuilding of the bridges that were destroyed during the floods in 2019, noting that only three were built, Vučić said that the most important thing for him was that a bridge was built in Sirča, which he previously promised. .

– I’ll check for myself what happened to the other bridges. Before coming to Kraljevo, citizens will see that we are ready to renew much more – he said, adding that he will try to renew as much as possible.

He stressed that the connection to the Čačak-Kraljevo highway means a lot and that the roads will be repaired later.

– Then we can imagine and try to widen the path to Raska and Novi Pazar. And Novi Pazar will have a connection through Požega, Arilje and Ivanjica. The entire southern and southwestern part of the country will be connected to the central part – he pointed out.
