The government has proposed changes to the Constitution in the area of ​​justice

With the proposal to change the Constitution in the part that refers to courts and prosecutors, the Government of Serbia and the Ministry of Justice confirmed their commitment to implement reform processes and comply with the activities of the revised Action Plan for Chapter 23, announced the Government.

The proposal refers to changes in the provisions of article 4 of the Constitution and the provisions relating to the courts and prosecutors (articles 142 to 165).

Consequently, the provisions of article 99 – Jurisdiction of the National Assembly, article 105 – Form of decision making in the National Assembly and article 172 – Election and appointment of the judges of the Constitutional Court are modified.

Changing the Constitution in the area of ​​justice is a necessary step to further strengthen the rule of law and further harmonization with the acquis and European standards.

The Action Plan for the implementation of the strategy for the development of the public information system was adopted

The Government of Serbia has adopted an Action Plan for the implementation of the strategy for the development of the public information system in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-2025. year, in the period 2020-2022. years.

The strategy foresees the adoption of two action plans to carry out the planned activities: the first action plan is expected to be adopted for the period from 2020 to 2022, and for the second for the period from 2023 to 2025.

Once the period of validity of the first three-year action plan has expired, a report will be prepared on the results of its implementation and the execution of the activities foreseen in the plan.

The Ministry of Culture and Information will manage the implementation of the Action Plan, the implementation of the Media Strategy, as well as the development of a set of new media laws.

The objective of the strategy is to improve the public information system that guarantees freedom of expression, media freedom, journalists’ safety, media pluralism, a developed media market, and a strengthened media profession.

Conclusion on the establishment of an adopted temporary project – Benefits card “For our heroes”

The members of the Government adopted the Conclusion on the establishment of a temporary project – Convenience card “For our heroes” for employees, employees and volunteers of the covid system, who had adequate facilities due to the difficult living and working conditions during the pandemic.

With the implementation of this card, it will be possible to obtain benefits when paying for goods and services with companies, legal entities, entrepreneurs, institutions and collaborating companies with which a collaboration protocol will be signed.

In addition, cardholders will have the advantage of exercising their rights and receiving services in state institutions, public companies, local governments and social welfare institutions.

The card will be personalized and can be used throughout the territory of Serbia, regardless of the user’s place of residence.

The “For Our Heroes” support program is being implemented in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The measures and activities related to the “For our heroes” benefit card will be temporary, that is, they will be limited to the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Government of Serbia has invited all interested parties to join the “For Our Heroes” program as partners, each within their means.
