THE AVERAGE PENSION WILL BE HIGHER BY 1,700 DINARS: Starting in 2021, around 1.7 million of the oldest income will be adjusted according to the Swiss model.

Therefore, the average amount instead of the current 27,770 will be higher by about 1,700 dinars. There will be more money in the account of those who work for the minimum, but not as much as the unions asked, but instead of the previous 30,022 dinars, they will receive 2,000 more.

As explained in the PIO fund, the total increase in pensions in the period from 2012 to 2021 is 30.9 percent, and for pensioners who receive the amount of money as an increase with a pension, it is 37.5 percent. hundred. This means that a person who had 20,000 dinars eight years ago will have 27,499 dinars in the future, and whoever had 30,000 dinars will have 39,284 dinars.

– The pension system in recent years has shown a continuous positive trend in line with the fiscal consolidation achieved. The steady growth of pensions has been guaranteed through regular adjustments, and additional payments have also been introduced to the elderly, but without disturbing the sustainability of the system, says Dragana Kalinović, director of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund.

FOR SINGLE PAYMENTS 38.3 BILLION

The RECEIPTS of beneficiaries whose pensions are low due to low wages in the past or shorter periods of insurance have been additionally increased by paying a monetary amount as an increase with the pension, which has been regularly delivered since October 2018, by 1, 3 million pensioners. Additionally, one-time payments have been paid once a year since 2016, and in five years, 38.3 billion dinars were paid to pensioners on that basis, which is equal to 22,000 dinars per person.

The collection of the Fund’s original income since 2012, he emphasized, has a very positive trend and of the 51.1 percent that participated in the income in 2012, in 2019 they represented 74.6 percent of the total income. The positive trend also continued this year. Until the declaration of a state of emergency due to the pandemic, the collection was higher than expected by 1.1 billion dinars.

Professor Dr. Milojko Arsić from the Belgrade Faculty of Economics says for “Novosti” that according to the data available so far on the growth of prices and wages, applying the Swiss formula, pensions should rise 5.5 percent.

– It is possible that according to the new data, the growth is somewhat lower, but certainly not below five percent – explains the professor.

However, he emphasizes that a sustainable increase in wages is only one that is in line with production and productivity trends, and that due to its decline this year, any increase in the minimum wage is a burden on the economy.

– In this context, almost 38,000, what the unions are asking for, is completely unsustainable, and an increase of 2,000 dinars will make it difficult for the economy to recover – says our interlocutor.

On the other hand, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions does not think so. Zoran Mihajlović, vice president of the SSSS Council, believes that it makes no sense to negotiate on the minimum for a month, and then its amount is determined “from above” for the second year in a row.

THE CHECK WILL BE FOR 440 EUROS IN 2025

THANKS to all the measures taken in the last period and to the economic results achieved, it is certain that the base achieved and the growth trend registered in the number of employees and salary increases, and therefore in the collection of income from the Fund’s source, will allow to achieve the plan established for 2025 This year, the average pension is 440 euros – said Zoran Djordjevic, Minister of Labor.

– The provision of the law must be changed and the Government must give the proposal instead of the social partners – says our interlocutor. – We are aware that the year was bad and that the State invested a lot of money so that there were no layoffs, but, unfortunately, the number of people at least now almost doubles. Likewise, the amount is determined for next year, when, according to estimates by the same government, GDP will register the largest increase in the region.

Mihajlovic wonders what message we are giving to young people so that they stay in the country with a minimum six percent higher rate, and at this rate we will never equate the minimum consumption basket and the minimum wage.

– During that time, employers receive relief for paying contributions for pensions and health care, which is completely rude. Everything is back in the hands of the workers, for whom, when they retire, the checks will be less, and it is known what less money means for the health system.
