Unfortunately, the Borns understand this best in their respiratory organs. That city is surviving an ecological catastrophe these days.

The “Serbia Zidjin Bor Koper” foundry again sows fear and death. Pollution with toxic substances and gases becomes unbearable. And that lasted for days, so the inspection would ban the subsequent work of the Chinese company Zidjin only after several months of persistent poisoning of the population and the screams of civil activists.

With the unfortunate occasion, the Foundry was once again the focus of public interest. With the purchase of RTB Bor, the Zidjin company took on the public’s enthusiasm and responsibility for poisoning the citizens of Bor. But, the culprits of a large-scale poisoning are sitting (or have been sitting) in the Government of Serbia and in the leadership of the Combine.

What is now polluting Bor and poisoning Borane is the so-called New Foundry, built between 2009 and 2015.

The state spent 350 million euros on it. The state as an investor has never shown an analysis of the profitability of that investment.

Only the public statements of Minister Dinkic “that it is time for Borani to have a clear sky”, Minister Dulic that Bor “will no longer be the ecological black spot of Serbia” and Director Spaskovski that “this is a historic moment because technology clean brings a clear sky. “

I suggest to the President of Serbia that, as part of the long-standing fight against corruption and organized crime, and on the occasion of the latest poisoning of Bor residents, take a look in his yard (and not just go after the tycoons corruption) and start an investigation by the authorities against public officials to determine where 350 million euros of taxpayers ended up.

Because that money was not spent on the construction of the new Foundry in Bor. If it were, the citizens of Bor would not fear for their own lives and the lives of their children. And the Zidjin company did not want to inform the public that it should invest another 250 million euros in the reconstruction and modernization of the “new Foundry” to avoid further poisoning of citizens.

The president must initiate an investigation because then, true as the prime minister, someone lied to him “fat”, for which he affirmed that “the new Foundry is our little miracle of which we can be proud and that it is good for Borane and its environment, because it will have incomparably cleaner air. ” “.

The way the Serbian government built the new Smelter in Bor is a textbook example of organized crime (theft of the budget and taxpayers) and corruption.

The fate of 300, or 350, million euros, of which (I would say, the majority) was distributed among the participants (foreign partners, consultants, supervisors, contractors, designers, officials) in this “project” is another proof why the state should not be a business owner and why it should not get involved in financial matters.

If, for example, one of the private individuals had spent capital building a new foundry like this one, it would have long ago ended up a corporate corpse, along with the bank that lent it.

It should never happen that hundreds of millions of euros of people’s money spent in vain go unpunished. Investigating this case is a higher national priority than the sale of RTB Bor to the Chinese company Zidjin.

And I’m also not willing to believe the Chinese, whatever they promise. Last year, they claimed they were repairing equipment to reduce pollution in Bor. And the pollution continued in winter, spring and summer.

No one is innocent of the Bor ecocide. The Chinese appear to be “sitting” at the plant and are doing nothing to reduce pollution. On the contrary, they are working at full speed. Such behavior should not surprise us. Corruption is endemic in both China and Serbia.

That is why I am not betting on the health of citizens as a long-term quality of life in Bor. On the contrary, I fear that corruption will continue to be its silent killer.
