According to writing KiM RadioArtemije died from the consequences of the coronavirus in the Valjevo hospital, and was in poor health.
Artemije (Radosavljevic) was born in the village of Lelic. St. Justin Popović ordained him a monk after finishing the seminary on November 20, 1960 at the Ćelija monastery.
After graduating from the Belgrade Faculty of Theology, he enrolled in postgraduate studies in Athens, where he successfully defended his doctoral thesis. Then he retired to the Crna Reka monastery where he spent thirteen years.
He was elected Bishop of Raska and Prizren in May 1991.
On February 13, 2010, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church temporarily relieved Bishop Artemije of the management of the Raska-Prizren diocese. The reason was the examination of the financial and material management of the affairs of that diocese.
Furthermore, he was accused of illegally alienating the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church by selling business premises to an Albanian for 150,000 euros.
In the spring 2010 regular session, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church removed and removed Bishop Artemije. Bishop Artemije retained the rank of bishop and bishop, but without the right to administer the diocese.
Since June 2010, he lived in the Šišatovac monastery in Fruška gora. By decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church of November 19, 2010, his episcopal rank was revoked and he was returned to the rank of ordinary monk.
Although his episcopal rank was revoked, the monk Artemije presented himself as “the bishop of Raska and Prizren in exile”.
On May 25, 2015, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church called him to unity. Following the negative reply, Parliament removed him from office on May 28, 2015.
