Suspecting that in Toplica on August 10 and 11, on several occasions he hooked the fish to the body by grabbing or hanging it from the body with special equipment adapted to fishing, and then hooking it to the body above the head with a three-legged hook and then dragged it to shore. From the water, the Prokuplje Basic Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against NM de Prokuplje.
The prosecution notes that at the beginning of September they received a criminal complaint from the company “Južna Morava dva” Niš.
– The case is at the stage of collecting the necessary information, and NM is suspected of having committed the crime of illegal fishing, for which a three-year prison sentence is prescribed – they say, among other things, in the Prosecutor’s Office .
The applicant submitted various pieces of evidence, including video footage of the entire “action” of catching one of the largest fish ever caught at Toplica.
The media previously wrote that in mid-August in Toplica, in the part of the creek that passes through Prokuplje downstream of the railway bridge, the NM fisherman, after an alleged fight lasting almost 40 minutes, managed to catch and take out a catfish from 2.26 meters that weighed 67 kilograms.
– Regardless of the fact that I have strong accessories, that I have experience, it was a very fierce fight. The depth did not exceed one meter, but the nut was strong because the water had entered from the rains of the previous days. However, he gained the experience and knowledge, as well as the adrenaline rush, NM said at the time.
Fishermen claim that this is one of the largest specimens ever caught.
By the way, catfish is a very common fish in the Toplica River, and in previous years there were cases when large specimens were caught, but even the oldest citizens of Prokuplje do not remember that such a large fish was ever caught.
