On November 2, 2001, the Belgrade High Court sentenced 22-year-old Adam Rakocevic to a single sentence of three years and three months in prison for causing a car accident in which GSP bus driver Bojan Perac, 31, died in February and from illegal drug possession. it also included a previous house arrest sentence that he had violated.
The court also lifted Rakočević’s custody, so he will defend himself in the course of the process, and this decision prompted a lot of comments on social media.

The only sentence included a 6-month house arrest sentence for illegally carrying a weapon, which he violated when he went out into the street and caused an accident.
He was also banned from driving a category B motor vehicle for five years, which will begin to be enforced after serving his prison sentence.
It should be noted that this is an unprecedented tragedy in which two city buses crashed due to the collision of a private car, which resulted in the death of GSP driver Bojan Perac and the injury of two other passengers.
Rakocevic. it went through a red light on the fateful morning, going from Tršćanska Street to Cara Dušana Street and on that occasion collided with a bus on line 45. The vehicle deviated from its trajectory due to the force of the impact and collided directly with the GSP bus of line 15, which from the garage included in the traffic.
Perac died not far from his home, because he lived with his family in Zemun.
Adam Rakočević, by the way, had a temporary driver’s license and was not allowed to drive between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
