In the sea of laws, changes, regulations, changes and decisions that concern our finances, there are quite a few that are related to banks. They all go into effect today.

In addition, almost all of them mean – less favorable conditions for bank customers.

What happens?

Basic banking services, which are used by virtually everyone with a bank account, will be 15 to 60 percent more expensive next year. Thus, in some banks, the maintenance of the account from March of next year will cost 190 dinars, instead of the previous 160.

SMS notifications will require 100 dinars per month, instead of 70 dinars, and the minimum fee for paying in cash with a payment card at an ATM or another bank counter will be 200 dinars instead of 150.

The card replacement service will also become more expensive if it is lost or stolen, costing 500 dinars instead of 300.

6-year cash loan only

The Central Bank has approved rules that have been applied in the last two years, the novelty is that for quotas from January 1, there is a term of 6 years, instead of the previous 7, that is, 8.

That is, the loans you take from today for the future will have a shorter repayment period, that is, a maximum of six years, it was confirmed for “Telegraf Biznis”, and that is in accordance with the regulations of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) since the end of 2018.

The term for the repayment of consumer and cash loans that banks will grant to citizens from this January will be a maximum of six years, according to the provisions of said regulations. These terms, as confirmed by the central bank, will not change, regardless of the fact that in July, the NBS enabled citizens who have loans to extend repayment terms by two years.

Money storage fee – storage fee

In recent days, it has been mentioned that some banks operating in the region, but also beyond, plan to introduce a fee to keep money.

One of the explanations is that the volume of money deposits is growing after the introduction of the blockade and that the fact is that people have nowhere to spend money and deposit it in banks. Therefore, some bankers announce that in the first half of 2021 there is a high probability that fees for money storage will be introduced.

In addition, it is assumed that in the first months of the new year a high rate will not be introduced immediately, as well as that it will first be allocated to cash deposits of 100,000 euros, that is, the same as for company deposits.
