BRUSSELS – The French deputy of the European Parliament Thierry Mariani declared today that Kosovo is a mafia state and a cancer of the Balkans.
At the meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mariani criticized the report of the European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo, Viola von Cramon, in which, among other things, she supported visa liberalization for Kosovo.
“Kosovo is a region of Serbia, which was never allowed to remain in the hands of those who run it today. Pristina abolished basic rights, the rule of law and the functioning of democratic institutions. There is human trafficking, organ trafficking “Kosovo today is a cancer of wounds in the Balkans,” Thierry said.
He recalled that the former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, is accused of war crimes, and that Viola von Cramon did not even mention that fact, reports “Sputnik”, referring to the text of the “Gazeta Express” of Pristina.
“Metastases are spreading in Europe, mafia operations and weapons imported into France from Kosovo. I am concerned about how the rapporteur and most of the political groups support visa liberalization for Kosovo. The EU supports the mafia state, ”Mariani said, reports Tanjug.
The French MP called Viola von Cramon’s report on Kosovo unbalanced, blind and ideological.
After Mariani’s speech, Rapporteur Viola von Cramon said that she was surprised by her speech and that Kosovo is not a mafia state.
She suggested that they visit Kosovo together to have the opportunity to speak with the residents there, learn about the situation and assess whether, as she said, it is a mafia state and an arms exporting country.
He added that visa liberalization would not endanger the citizens of France in any way.
