Georgina Tešanović (34) from Jelava near Loznica managed to give birth to 3 children 14 months ago after a long struggle, but was left alone with them in a 10 square meter room.
Nikola, Mateja and Mihailo, although healthy and happy, are taking their first steps in the only room full of humidity.
“In this room, which is supposed to be a kitchen, we welcome summer, winter and spring. Here we eat and sleep. We have three more rooms next to it, but they are not in good condition because our roof has leaks , wet “. slab and wall and plaster started to fall, “says Georgina Tešanović from Jelava.
After the death departure of her mother and father, she took care of her two younger sisters for years, earning a living.
After the birth, her husband also left her and since then she has taken care of the babies on her own, with welfare as her only income. That, she says, is enough for her basic living needs: food and diapers, but not enough to winterize the house and wood.
“We will welcome winter in this room where the woodwork is very bad, the windows are in very bad condition, it is very cold here in winter, the stove does not reach enough to warm up. The babies are in the walking phase, they want to more room to crawl, to move. “It’s not really possible here, it’s not easy at all,” explains Tesanovic.
If she were not alone with the babies, Georgina says, she would not have chosen a job, because she learned to take care of herself and others as a child. An additional problem for her is that due to unresolved property relationships, she could leave the house where she now lives.
