Gathered in the Plaza de la República, they welcomed midnight with firecrackers and some fireworks.

A few minutes after midnight, two trumpeters and a drummer arrived on Knez Mihailova Street.

They played “Uzice Circle” for the citizens, which was played by a small number of gathered citizens.

The police were present at the scene, but did not separate the celebrators.

Although the restaurants were closed at 6 PM, a large number of Belgrade residents walked through the city center and most of the people were on Kneza Mihaila Street and Kalemegdan Park.

Most of the elderly citizens of the capital were on the streets, and most respected the measures of wearing a surgical mask.

Skadarska Street, where a large number of citizens traditionally gather on New Year’s Eve, was completely deserted this year due to the corona virus pandemic.
