NEW PENSION CONDITIONS FROM JANUARY: This is what is changing and when it will affect

Thus, instead of the 63 years of life, which were necessary for retirement this year, they will need two more months, and the condition of work experience for women remains unchanged and that is at least 15 years.

The addition of two months to the year will last until 2032, when the condition for the old-age pension for both sexes will be the same, that is, 65 years and at least 15 years of insurance experience, it was previously said in the PIO fund.

For men, there will be no change from next year: 65 years of age and at least 15 years of work experience.

Both men and women will retire early next year under new conditions, that is, women with 58 years and four months of age and 39 years and four months of experience, and men must have at least 59 years and 40 years of experience .

The conditions for both sexes to be able to exercise the right to an early-age pension will change successively until 2024, when men and women will be equal, so they will need at least 40 years of insurance experience and 60 years of life.

Early retirement pensions are permanently reduced by 0.34 percent for each month before the age of majority prescribed for acquiring the right to an old-age pension.

The right to an early old-age pension since 2015, when the application of the Pensions and Disability Insurance Law began, which introduced this type of right, each year between 9,000 and 10,000 policyholders file an application and exercise the right.

The number of retirees increases from year to year and, on the other hand, the number of disabled retirees is decreasing, while family retirees are mostly in a constant percentage of participation.

Currently there are about 1.7 million pensioners in Serbia, beneficiaries of all kinds of pensions, and their average income is around 27,769 dinars.

Citizens can submit a request to exercise the right to a pension at the windows of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, by post or email.

The possibility of electronic submission of applications was made possible thanks to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund in March of this year.
