For now, most likely Ana Brnabić will remain in the post of prime minister, and Siniša Mali, Zorana Mihajlović, Nebojša Stefanović, Branislav Nedimović should also keep the seat in Nemanjina 11.
According to some information, there will be no drastic change in the structure of the Government, that is, the introduction of new departments, of which there are currently 21. If new ministries are established, there will be no more than two or three. But there are expected to be more women, of which there are five in the current lineup.
The outline of the future government will begin to be completed after another round of consultations by President Aleksandar Vučić with party leaders who are potential coalition partners, and then on top of the progressives, in the sessions of the Main Board and the Presidency. of the party.
These talks are expected to take place in the next few days and, in the event of such a “schedule”, a session of the Serbian Parliament would be scheduled for next week, at which the Speaker of the Parliament would be elected. A short time later, a proposal for a designated prime minister and future ministers would come before the deputies. However, it is not excluded that this work will be extended until the end of the month and that it will be completed in the last week of October.
Regarding the alleged composition of the future government that appeared in the media, President Aleksandar Vučić ironically said on Thursday that “all the ministers were beaten”:
– Please post the list compiled by the magnates and then look at the day you will receive proposals for ministers. They hit everything, I congratulate them and wish them much success in that. They probably eavesdropped on me, so they managed to hit all the ministers in the next government.
Vučić also emphasized that the head of the BIA, Bratislav Gašić, enjoys his great confidence and that he is doing state work in the most responsible way. He said that he did not want to comment on the writings of certain media that, allegedly, the former Secretary of State in the Interior Ministry, Diana Hrkalović, attacked Gasić “dissatisfied with being a candidate for the first man of the Ministry of the Interior. Responding to the question of whether that is true, Vučić replied:
– How does someone know who is a candidate for what? And whether it’s true or not, I won’t go into those stories. Small, personal insults don’t interest me.
As “Novosti” has already written, currently the most interesting combinatorics is taking place in the security sector. Two options are being considered: that the current Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Vulin, remains a member of the cabinet in Nemanjina as Minister of Police, or that he moves to Banjica and takes over as director at the BIA. In that case, Gasic would become the most serious candidate for police minister, while Nebojsa Stefanovic of the MUP would become the head of the Ministry of Defense.
It is still unknown if and when progressives, who have achieved a resounding victory in the elections and can form the government themselves, will invite one of their partners to the future government. Its officials have repeatedly emphasized that all options are on the table, from a government with only minorities to a concentration government that would include SPS Ivica Dacic and SPAS Aleksandar Sapic.
On Thursday, the head of the Socialists, Ivica Dačić, said that the SPS-JS coalition did not reach any agreement with the SNS regarding the formation of the government, but that the alliance was ready to continue cooperation with the progressives. When asked if and if he would remain Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dacic replied:
– It’s like asking someone if they would like to win the Champions League final. We all play to win, I am not in favor of “it is important to participate.” Still, it is better to play in the Champions League.
By the way, the formation of the new government, according to the legal deadlines, has not yet entered at the moment. In other words, the deadline for future ministers to take the oath is November 3, that is, 90 days from the constitution of the Assembly.
AND THE CULTURE CANDIDATE OF ILIĆ
EXCEPT in the security sector, there is fierce competition for the chair in the field of culture. As we have learned unofficially, Ana Ilić, advisor to Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, in charge of creative industries, also joined the race for this portfolio. Previously, she was the director of the Serbian Film Association and had a great influence on the adoption of the decree on state benefits for foreign film producers. In addition to her, Maja Gojković, Jelena Trivan, Ivan Tasovac and Aja Jung are mentioned as possible successors to Vladan Vukosavljević.
