International tourism has practically disappeared. There are 58 to 80 percent fewer international trips in the world, and the damage is estimated at € 910 billion, said Rasim Ljajic, a guest at Jutarnji dnevnik.
Starting on Wednesday, the distribution of additional coupons will begin at all post offices in Serbia, which citizens can use at catering facilities that have registered for their use.
“The use of these coupons is voluntary and catering companies can but do not have to apply for coupons. Currently more than 1,500 catering establishments accept them, and I think their number will grow,” said Ljajic.
In just a month and a half, 160,000 coupons were distributed, and 57 percent of the citizens who took them were pensioners.
On Monday, a meeting was held at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce with representatives of hoteliers and catering companies with the Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, on models of assistance to this branch of the economy.
“We had a meeting at PKS and I think we will make an aid package by Monday, although we will not be able to meet all the requests. Some of those requests are unrealistic, such as extending the loan moratorium to six months and paying minimum wages to employed for another three months. ” But we will definitely find some help model, “said Ljajic.
As for trade, the minister says that online sales of all items, from household appliances to groceries, have increased.
However, Minister Ljajić sees no reason to increase prices, except perhaps when it comes to seasonal fruit and vegetable prices, because transport is not yet running at full capacity.
