The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, said today that in the next period, and especially during the next weekend, the inspection control in ski resorts, restaurants and cafes will be increased, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

Responding to journalists’ question what the state is doing regarding the increase in the number of infected, especially those coming from the crowded mountains, Brnabić replied that the numbers are growing because more tests are being done, but that the percentage of the infection is stagnant.

– The positive is that the percentage of contagion stagnates, but stagnates at high numbers, we must have lower numbers. That was the main theme in the last crisis staff session, and we are not running away from more restrictive measures, Brnabić said.

He points out that in the next period, inspection control will be increased in ski resorts, but also in Vranje, where, he says, the situation is difficult.

– I spoke with the mayor of Vranje to strengthen inspection control, to punish people who do not wear masks in shopping malls and stores, because people have relaxed – said Brnabić.

It states that measures to prevent the spread of the virus will remain a balance between economy, life and health.

Vaccine delivery to North Macedonia soon

– Regarding the Pfizer vaccine donation for North Macedonia, which was agreed by Vučić, everything is ready, we have certain quantities of Pfizer vaccine ready. We are only waiting for official approval from Pfizer so that we can donate or export them to North Macedonia, Brnabić said, answering questions from journalists.

He added that the contract with Pfizer states that we should not export these vaccines from Serbia.

– That is why we are awaiting official approval. I wrote to the director of Pfizer, we are in constant contact with his team. President Vučić also withdrew his personal ties with the United States to obtain that consent for us to export those vaccines to North Macedonia, and I hope this will be completed in the next few days, the Prime Minister stated.

We want to support the citizens of North Macedonia and perhaps other countries in the region, he added.

He noted that as soon as we get consent, the vaccines will go to Skopje.
