If the closure is lived as a prison after which we will act as RELEASED FROM THE CHAIN, we will do nothing

No state can adopt measures that are so effective as to prevent mass infection if each individual does not act responsibly and conscientiously, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs and crisis staff member Darija Kisić Tepavčević said today.

As a guest on the Uranak program on K1 television, she said that everyone should limit their movement and reduce the risk to themselves.

– There is no ideal measure. We could live normally or relatively normally if everyone adhered to preventive measures, emphasized Kisić Tepavčević.

On the occasion of the recent music concert at Kombanik Hall, he assessed the abuse of the fact that cultural events, such as theatrical performances and the like, can be held under certain rules.

– The concert is not a cultural event. That was not allowed, especially since singing is very risky for the transmission of droplets that spread the virus, the minister said.

“As released from the chain”

When asked if imprisonment for 10 days or two weeks is justified, what are his views, he replied that it could reduce infection and the burden on the health system and health workers.

However, he added that if the incarceration is lived like a prison where only the days will be counted and then he will behave, as he said, as released from the chain, then nothing would be done, but only the exposure to the infection. it would be delayed.

According to her, the closure would only make sense if those days were used to vaccinate as many people as possible and thus reduce the risk of contagion and its transmission.

“The effects of vaccination are already beginning to be seen”

Kisic Tepavcevic pointed out that the effects of vaccination are already beginning to be seen and that they will be more and more pronounced. In that sense, he affirmed that based on yesterday’s data, more than 90 percent of all hospitalized people in the world have not been vaccinated.

– There will be a growing difference between the vaccinated and the others, as time goes by, because we will have an increasing number of people where a critical period of time has passed after receiving the second dose, when most acquire immunity – he said Kisić Tepavčević.

He said that in Serbia and other countries there was an infection of vaccinated people, and the frequency of this phenomenon depended on the type of vaccine and how long it takes to create the optimal amount of immunity after the second dose.

– Also in Israel, as an excellent example of immunization, most of the vaccinated people were infected between the first and the second dose or had symptoms 10 or 14 days after receiving the second dose – said the minister.

He called on people to get vaccinated as many as possible and evaluated that those who have not yet done so, behave in this way because they have doubts and not because they refuse to be vaccinated.

“The reason for vaccination should not be to travel”

Regarding announcements from the European Union that only those who are vaccinated with EU-approved vaccines will receive covid passes, Kisić Tepavčević said that all vaccines are good and that the reason for vaccination should not be to travel, but rather the main motive should be self-protection and their environment.

He stated that in most cases, the vaccine protects against serious clinical pictures and hospitalization.

– If a vaccinated person comes into contact with a sick person, in most cases they will not get sick. And when it comes to whether you can transmit the virus if you have an asymptomatic or milder form of the disease, it is still assumed that you can, although it is much less than when it comes to unvaccinated people, he explained.

He added that most of those vaccinated will not get sick and a large part, more than 95% of them, will not have a clinical picture that requires hospitalization.

Collective immunity and collective closure

When asked how many people should be vaccinated to get herd immunity, he replied that it is ungrateful to predict that. The initial estimate, he says, was that 70 percent would prevent epidemic spread of the disease, and that now, when increasingly virulent strains appear, it may be even higher.

– The critical moment for us is supposed to be between one and a half million and two million fully vaccinated – said Kisić Tepavčević.

He also stated that the age limit for those who must be vaccinated will be lowered. In Israel, it has dropped from 18 to 16 and can be expected to continue to decline.

Asked about what can be expected from tomorrow’s session of the Crisis Staff and what is their attitude towards the closure, she said that her expert opinion is that the closure for a certain time is desirable to strengthen the capacity of the health system and save the Health. workers who are on the verge of physical resistance.
