BELGRADE – The capital of Serbia should soon have the Belgrade Alley in which deserving citizens would be buried in the future, and the decision on this should be made at the City Assembly session next Friday.
The Belgrade Alley is planned at the Bežanija Cemetery, where all those who do not meet the conditions to be buried in the Alley of Deserving Citizens at the New Cemetery will be buried, Večernje novosti reported today.
This should put an end to the controversy over who and why deserves to be buried in the Alley of Deserving Citizens, which was held in public on the occasion of the decision to bury certain popular singers there.
So far, more than 750 people have been buried in the Callejón del Nuevo Cementerio, among politicians, actors, generals, writers, scientists, painters, directors, sculptors, journalists, doctors and athletes.
