Here is how many infected people are expected, new access points have appeared

The epidemiologist Predrag Kon announced that today we will have the highest number of new infected since the beginning of the epidemic.

– We are registering an increase in new infections, the lower number of yesterday is a consequence of the week and today I expect the maximum number so far. Close to or more than 4,000 new cases. We cannot say that the situation has stabilized. The epidemic in Serbia is not under control, not all the time we have the situation under control in some way, but with great commitment, we are still registering an increase – said Kon.

Dr Kon says that a leveling off was expected this week, but that this did not happen because the measures were not implemented enough.

– The growth that we expect today, we will see in the next few days, I hope we stabilize the situation. The situation in Belgrade is critical, you cannot say otherwise – said Kon.

The doctor says that now new hot spots have appeared throughout Serbia.

– The hot spot is where there are more people, Belgrade is the biggest center, here the most difficult situation is expected from the beginning. All of Serbia is affected, but not equally. Belgrade, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Nis, some places rose, so it leveled off, but Belgrade is constantly growing, that’s the only problem, along with Novi Sad.

He stressed that the health care system cannot function regularly now.

– This is now incomparably more difficult for the health system. I was also on the battlefield, we survived the bombardment, but this is incomparably more difficult for the system – emphasized Kon.

Dr Kon also referred to the new measures that come into effect today, saying that he would like to see them taken sooner, as well as that stricter measures had been proposed earlier.
