In Novi Pazar, 12 percent of adult citizens were vaccinated, that is, 9,170 people, announced the secretary of state of the Ministry of Health, Mirsad Đerlek. “In the last 20 days, we have made a solid step forward in Novi Pazar. Awareness is slowly awakening, we are far from the goal, but it is still worth working on the field,” Djerlek told Serbian radio and television.

He stated that 11 percent of citizens were vaccinated in Sjenica, while only 4.5 percent were vaccinated in Tutin.

Djerlek announced that he would continue to visit that region of Serbia, asked citizens to get vaccinated and told them that no one died from the vaccines, but that millions of people died from the virus in the world.

He said that from Tuesday vaccination will be possible in 50 Serbian cities without prior notification, adding that on Monday the Serbian government will decide which places are in question.

Djerlek recalled that the goal is to vaccinate 2.5 million citizens by the end of May and pointed out that 500,000 doses of “Sinofarm” vaccines will arrive in Serbia on Monday.

“There is no alternative to the vaccine and we will do everything possible to vaccinate the public and save as many lives as possible,” he emphasized.
