This is how Rajko Prijović (pictured), Branka’s husband, accused of the attempted aggravated murder of his newborn grandson in the Obrenovac settlement of Rojkovac, tells “Novosti” in a shaking voice, without hiding his tears.
The day before yesterday, Branka was transferred to the competent Superior Public Ministry, where she presented her defense, and as we learned unofficially, she allegedly admitted to having thrown the baby in a container, thinking that it had been born dead. However, the investigation will determine all the details of this unfortunate fact.
Branka and Rajko’s daughter, Milja P. (23), gave birth in the family home last week and, as we discovered, she concealed the pregnancy from her parents as well as her sister Nataša. She has a twenty-month-old son, Andrej, from a previous marriage, who, like his ailing father Rajko, is currently cared for by Nataša.
The crime was discovered by accident when the Obrenovac ambulance was informed that Milja was bleeding, and upon examination it was determined that she had given birth. The mother and baby, who were fortunately found alive in a container, were treated at the hospital.
