BELGRADE – The Republic Pension and Disability Fund reminds citizens that, according to the Pension and Disability Insurance Law, as of January 1, 2021, new conditions apply for the exercise of the right to a pension for old age and anticipated old age.
The retirement limit for women is shifted by two months, so the condition for women in 2021 is 63 years and two months of life and at least 15 years of insurance. The same conditions continue to apply to men: 65 years and at least 15 years of experience in insurance, announced the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund.
In addition to this basis for the old-age pension, insured persons of both sexes can exercise this right from 45 years of insurance, regardless of age.
As of January 1, 2021, men will need 40 years of insurance experience and 59 years of life to exercise the right to an early retirement pension, and women will need at least 39 years and four months of insurance experience and 58 years and four months of life.
In this case, the pension is permanently reduced by 0.34 per cent for each month before the prescribed age for acquiring the right to the old-age pension in that calendar year. The total amount of the deduction for early old-age pension can be a maximum of 20.4 percent.
If the insured wants to exercise the right to a pension under the conditions as of 2020, you must terminate your employment relationship and submit an application this year, in order to exercise the right to a pension under the conditions in force this year. The presentation of the application on January 1 onwards implies the application of the conditions in force in that year.
Therefore, to exercise the right to a pension under the conditions that apply in 2020, it is necessary to terminate the employment relationship no later than December 30, in order to submit a request to exercise the right to a pension at the latest December 31st. The request to exercise the right to a pension with the attached proof can be presented in person at the counter of the competent organizational unit of the Fund or sent by post as a registered item.
In addition, the Fund allowed citizens to submit applications to exercise the right to a pension electronically, through the e-Counter web portal, through the address esalter.pio.rs. The portal can also be accessed through the Fund’s website. The portal also contains detailed instructions for use, as well as the conditions that must be met in order to use the portal.
