According to our information, BA had an extramarital affair with the girl’s mother, with whom he also has a daughter, younger than the stepdaughter. Some time ago, the couple separated and the woman moved to Požarevac, with another man. As we discovered, the reason is domestic violence.
When the woman left the community, her 14-year-old daughter from a previous marriage stayed in Smederevo, with her maternal grandmother, who is the girl’s legal guardian.
– BA offered the girl to take her to her mother in Požarevac, probably with the intention of persuading her to return with him. When I was returning to Smederevo with the girl, they crossed part of the way on foot, because they did not get to the train on time, so they wanted to wait for the next one at the next station. He then raped her in an abandoned house, says a source in the investigation.
It all happened overnight between December 30 and December 31.
Upon returning to her grandmother, the girl told her what happened to her. They immediately went to the police together and reported the rapist.
After the raid, he was detained and ordered by the police to remain in detention for up to 48 hours, after which he was handed over to the Smederevo Superior Public Ministry, where he was interrogated on Saturday. At the hearing, he told what happened, but defended himself by claiming that he did not have sex with the girl by force.
– The suspects are charged with the crime of rape. The prosecution requested custody. In the subsequent course of the proceedings, the minor will be questioned and all the circumstances of the case determined, as confirmed to us by Smederevo’s Senior Deputy Prosecutor, Zoran Antić.
We discovered that the suspect was detained for up to 30 days.
