At the Assembly session, on whose agenda, among other things, the proposed amendments to the Law on Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases, Loncar said that the legal changes were proposed to overcome problems in practice when it comes to the application of regulations, decisions and orders. issued by the competent authorities.

He said it was The law stipulates that health institutions – state and private, employers, health workers and all citizens are obliged to implement the prescribed measures and to act according to the decision of the health inspector.

He added that certain penalties for minor offenses are foreseen for non-compliance with the decisions and orders of the competent authorities, and that the legal minimum has been raised when it comes to fines, because, he says, the practice of the courts for minor offenses indicates the trend of the courts to impose minimum fines.

The minimum amount of the fine for violating regulations on the protection of the population against infectious diseases increases from 30,000 to 50,000 dinars. Furthermore, since the pandemic still continues, the law is required to enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette, and not on the eighth day of its publication, Lončar said.
