The constitutive session of the Serbian National Assembly continued today and the election of the president, the secretary general and the working bodies of the parliament is on the agenda.
The only candidate for the presidency of the parliament is the president of the SPS, Ivica Dačić, and the deputies are currently discussing this proposal.
The parliamentary groups also presented a list of candidates for vice-presidents of the National Assembly.
Among them are Vladimir Orlić on behalf of the SNS, Stefan Krkobabić (PUPS), Radovan Tvrdišić (SPAS), Marija Jevđić (JS), Muamer Zukorlić and Elvira Kovač from SVM. Sandra Božić of the SNS, who was speculated to be the vice president, will remain the deputy director of the SNS parliamentary club.
The candidate for the presidency of the Serbian Assembly, Ivica Dačić, said today that he is honored to lead the highest representative body and added that his role will be to represent Parliament and thus protect its integrity.
– You know about me, that I am always in a good mood, especially today because it is really a great honor for me to be the head of the highest representative body and the holder of the constitutional and legislative power in Serbia – Dacic told reporters before the session .
He thanked President Aleksandar Vučić because, he says, he proposed it to the Speaker of the Serbian Assembly.
