The Municipality of Rača announced that Dr. Goran Ivanović, a specialist in general medicine, employed at the Rača Health Center, passed away as a result of the coronavirus. The fact that the municipality declares today – January 11, Day of Mourning – says a lot about what kind of expert, but man, are we talking about.
– The municipality of Rača informs the public with great regret that after more than a month of fighting against the COVID-19 virus, Dr. Goran Ivanović (1961-2021), a specialist in general medicine, employed at the Health Center, passed away of Rača. Dr. Goran Ivanović was a favorite doctor, friend to all the people of Rača, when in his time more than 3000 patients chose him as their personal physician, but even those who were not personal physicians came to him for help, in any time of day. Always ready to help, he spent his entire working life at the Rača Health Center, where he also served as director for two terms. After the declaration of the pandemic, he did not change his way of working and his attitude towards people, he was always willing to help and in that way he infected himself – it says in the municipality’s announcement, adding:
– The people of Racani will remember him as an unsurpassed diagnostician, but also as an outspoken man, whose desire to help people has always come first. The president of the municipality of Rača made the decision to declare Monday, January 11, 2021 as the Day of Mourning in the municipality of Rača, and the Ministry of Health will also launch an initiative to name the Health Center in Rača in honor of this great doctor and man.
Dr. Goran Ivanović left behind his wife and two children.
Dr. Ivanovic was mobilized on the Vukovar battlefield.
The people of Rača say that Dr. Ivanović was a great patriot. According to them, as a doctor, he was mobilized as part of the Kragujevac Artillery Guards Brigade, with which he participated in the war events of 1991/1992. on the battlefield of Vukovar. He made a great contribution to maintaining the sanitary readiness of the unit.
