Verica Bogosavljevic told “Novosti” this bitter testimony about the kidnapping of her brother, the police officer Ivan Bulatovic, who was 35 years old at the time. The indictment against the terrorists Hashim Thaci and Kadri Veselji was an occasion to remind this woman of the bitter fate of Ivan.
– His wife did not know what happened to Ivan afterwards, but later we learned that he was taken to the Likovac camp in Drenica, where he was subjected to the most cruel torture. Since then, all trace of him has been lost: Verica painfully remembers the moment when Ivan was separated from four children, the youngest of whom was only three years old.
It was said, according to information from the Association of Kidnapped and Murdered Serbs, that the unfortunate Ivan in Glogovac was apparently beheaded with a chainsaw, and the decapitated body was thrown into a well. Members of the so-called Drenica group, headed by the then commander Thaci, tortured the miners kidnapped in Belaćevac in the Likovac camp in the most cruel ways, among which the first victim was Žarko Spasić.
THE CHILDREN WERE THROWN TO THE CREMATORY
– DURING the anti-terrorist action of our police, the bones of the martyrs were found, as well as large quantities of weapons – recalls Rade Negojević, the then journalist of “Politika”, who was one of the first with teams of journalists to meet near the infamous Klecka field. After brutal torture and execution, Serbian police and civilians were thrown into the crematorium. Among them, we learned, were pregnant women and two girls aged 10 and 15.
– I was with three children in our apartment in Pristina when Zarko went to work at “Surface Mines” in Belacevac on May 14, 1998. That was the last time I saw him. Zarko’s wife Sladjana told “Novosti”.
Snezana Markovic Zdravkovic (47) from Devet Jugovic, now displaced in Prokuplje, last saw her father in June 2000. Tomislav Markovic, 54, was abducted on June 24 on his way from Merdar to Podujevo. That day I was in a convoy of vehicles with Serbs traveling from central Serbia to Pristina.
– He was kidnapped from a convoy of vehicles escorted by KFOR, but they probably later took him to the Kuks camp in northern Albania, because I found his photo with a convoy of Serbian detainees in a foreign newspaper – says Snezana, noting that the names of the kidnappers are known but in the same way, during 1999, dozens of Serbs were kidnapped on the Merdar to Podujevo section near Livadice.
In June 1999, Nenad Vukadinović (44) from Devet Jugović was also abducted, who was found with stab wounds to the neck by KFOR soldiers on a street in Priština.
– On June 26, 1999, my husband went to work at the “Obilić” power plant, but they found him in Priština, where he was literally massacred – says his wife Nadica. After a few days, she found her husband in the Pristina hospital morgue.
