Nikola Petrovic, the godfather of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, became a co-owner of the Crni Vrh Power company in August, which plans to build the Crni Vrh wind farm in the territory of Zagubica, Bor and Majdanpek, CINS has learned and remembers that Petrovic has been working with small hydroelectric plants for years. In 2019 alone, the State bought electricity worth 2.3 million euros from hydroelectric plants connected to it.

The company “Crni Vrh Power” from Žagubica, whose activity is the production of electricity, was founded last year by the company “W-Line”, owned by Ivan Pantelić, which became the direct owner in March this year. According to the share assignment contract, in which Center for Investigative Reporting in Serbia (CINS) Had an idea, Nikola Petrovic was transferred 50 percent ownership of the company in August for about 37 thousand dinars.

This is a company that should build the “Crni vrh” wind power station on the three borders of the Bor, Majdanpek and Žagubica territory, and the value of this work, according to media inscriptions, is around 100 million euros. It is planned to build up to 40 wind turbines that use wind energy to produce electricity, of which 21 in the territory of Žagubica, 14 in the territory of Bor and five in the territory of Majdanpek.

At the beginning of June, Bor and Majdanpek presented a detailed regulation plan of the wind farm area, which is one of the conditions for the subsequent design and construction.

Nikola Petrović, director of “Elektromreža Srbije” (EMS) in the period from September 2012 to the end of 2016 and godfather of the president Aleksandar Vučić, he did not want to talk more about this business for CINS.

Petrovic’s new business partner, Ivan Pantelic, is the owner of the company “Kodar Energomontaza”, which specializes in works in the field of transmission and distribution of electricity and telecommunications systems and equipment.

In a consortium with other companies, “Kodar Energomontaža” got the job to build a transmission line from Kragujevac to Kraljevo from “Elektromreža Srbije” in March this year. Nikola Petrović was also present at the laying of the foundation stone for this construction in June. He was then Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic He stated that the fact that Nikola Petrović is sitting next to the current EMS director “speaks of working with a long-term vision and continuity that ensures the realization of strategic projects.”

CINS claims that Nikola Petrović is not new to the renewables business: there are nine mini hydroelectric power plants (SHPP) on the Serbian rivers, whose ownership is linked to him. Eight SHPPs are located in the municipality of Crna Trava, while one is located at the foot of Kopaonik on the Jošanica river. Most of them belong to “Eco Energo Group”, a company of which Petrovic is a co-owner.

In 2019 alone, these nine small hydropower plants produced and sold electricity to the Serbian Electric Power Industry (EPS) worth about 2.3 million euros. And, as in previous years, the total earnings of these SHPPs were the main ones when it comes to EPS payments to the privileged electricity producers.
