Artemije passed away, lost the battle with the crown

Ousted Bishop Artemije, a former bishop of the Raska-Prizren diocese, died today as a result of the corona virus at the Valjevo hospital, Belgrade media report.

They recall that Bishop Artemije was replaced by the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2010 due to the financial and material management of the business of the Diocese of Raska and Prizren, in 2015 he was expelled from the church, and a few months later he formed the Diocese of Raska and Prizren in exile.

He lived in the Šišatovac monastery in Fruška Gora. Artemije (Marko) Radosavljević was born in 1935 in the village of Lelić near Valjevo.

He became a monk in 1960 at the Ćelija monastery. He graduated from the Faculty of Theology in Athens, where he also received his doctorate.

He was elected bishop of Raska and Prizren in 1991, and Patriarch Pavle performed that duty before him.

In addition to being a nun, according to the media, Artemije played an important social and political role after the war in Kosovo and met with numerous national and foreign political officials.
