ARE THE SYMPTOMS NOW DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST TWO WAVES? Here’s how Dr. Kon explains it

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said today that the symptoms of the coronavirus in this latest wave do not differ from the previous two we had in March and July, adding that virologists say that too.

Kon thus responded to the question of journalists whether certain claims that the clinical picture of patients in this wave differs from the previous ones, when the cough was more pronounced, are true, while now there is weakness, diarrhea and headaches.

The epidemiologist pointed out that now, unlike the two previous waves, we have many more infected people and that more patients are admitted to hospitals, and that there are those who have somewhat different symptoms.

“Perhaps the impression is that there has been a change, but that impression is misleading, because we have a lot of infected people staying at home and we can’t monitor their symptoms, so the impression is different because of that,” Kon explained.

He adds that virologists say there were no changes in the virus and symptoms, and that these are just impressions.

Kon also noted that the corona virus is now in the fall and winter seasons for the first time, noting that it may just be its “seasonal nature,” but only time will tell.
