“If therapy is postponed, Anika will not meet the criteria related to weight and age, and if she exceeds the criteria, doctors cannot guarantee safety,” Ivanka says.
Anika has been taking medication since she was two months old to help slow the progression of the disease. But as time goes on, he breathes harder and swallows, and more and more devices are needed to keep Anika alive.
The medicine for which the money is raised also restores hope. An injection affects the correction of a gene to begin producing the protein necessary for Anika’s life.

Ivanka says that Anika has good and bad days. On bad days, as he points out, he cannot reach air and struggles to breathe, suffocating. He adds that these are very stressful times for the whole family, because the disease is insidious and uncertain and you never know what tomorrow brings, and now with the crown the risk is even greater and the pressure is increasing.
“Now we are in isolation to protect her from infections of any kind, because they can be very dangerous for her. But Anika is a great fighter, we call her a lion, she has endured a lot so far and we are sure she will get through this. the last hurdle and getting to her therapy, ”says Ivanka.
