Branislav Brano Mićunović (67) began to be mentioned more intensively in the media after his arrest in January, and his profession is more often described as a “controversial businessman”.

For years, Micunovic has been mentioned in the media as the most powerful man in Montenegro and a close associate of President Milo Djukanovic, with strong ties in the world of politics, the underground, business and pop. The man who has been considered the undisputed “teacher” of Montenegro for decades was also mentioned in public due to his association with the late Đorđe Božović Giška, Željko Ražnatović Arkan, Dragoslav Kosmajc, as well as Ratko Butorović, called Bata Kankan.

In other words, in addition to being the owner of FC Sutjeska, he officially dedicated himself to the real estate and catering sector. It had numerous clubs and casinos on the coast, including, as it was said at the time, the largest nightclub in the Balkans.

Bran Micunovic’s name appears on two international cigarette smuggling charges. In the Italian, with Milo Đukanović and several other people from Montenegro, he is suspected of cigarette smuggling.

Game afternoons in which millions of euros were lost

Montenegrin agents also claim that Mićunović is known as a passionate gamer.

– In previous years, he regularly organized evenings of letters for acquaintances and friends, which often lasted uninterruptedly for several days, and in which huge sums were invested. In this regard, during 2006 and 2007, he organized card games involving Veselin Barović, Savo Grbović and Slobodan Đurović, alias Cardinal, then Milojica Đurišić, alias Miša Stuttgart, for whom there are strong indications that he participated in the illegal trafficking of drugs, white slavery, organized crime and extortion. Also present was Milo Jabucanin, a controversial Montenegrin businessman. Some of the participants lost several million euros each night. According to unverified information, Mićunović came into conflict with Barović, who allegedly caused a riot at one of Mićunović’s casinos. Because of that, Mićunović’s bodyguard, Savo Vujović, inflicted serious bodily injuries on him, the document says.

It should be remembered that Mićunović was arrested on January 6, after the police found two weapons in the car in which he was with two friends.
