After vaccination, doctors ask questions about antibodies.

Whether you have developed antibodies and how many of them, experts say, is not about the effectiveness of the vaccine you received. However, in the example of Serbia it was shown that some people, even after revaccination, did not develop antibodies. Therefore, there is the possibility that these people will receive the third dose, which is much talked about around the world.

Of the three people on the H1 morning show, host Natasa Miljkovic had the fewest antibodies. It has been three weeks since she was vaccinated with the second dose of Chinese Sinofarm, and her body has developed only 14 antibodies above the limit, which, according to a test conducted at the Nuclear Energy Application Institute, is 20.

His interlocutors, otherwise experts on the same subject, have twice as many antibodies, created after revaccination with Sputnik V, that is, the Pfizer vaccine.

“Am I now the weakest link in the chain?” Miljković asked his guests.

Coronavirus Vaccine

“The plateau, that is, the maximum production of antibodies with the Sinofarm vaccine occurs later in relation to the Sputnik V vaccine, and especially in relation to the Pfizer vaccine, so it is expected that these values will continue to grow, and that only 6 weeks after the second dose they reach maximum values ”, explains Marija Gnjatović, associate of the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy.

“Now we are comparing antibodies, yours, Mary’s, mine … but immunity is not mathematics, it is something very complex, the issue of protection cannot be reduced to a mere comparison of numbers”, said Radan Stojanovic , professor of clinical pharmacology. at the Faculty of Medicine.

“So this doesn’t mean that Marija is the most protected, then you, then me,” Miljković asked.

“The general conclusion is that we all react to the vaccine correctly, we check a part of our immune response, but basically we still do not know in the long term what it protects us,” explains Radan.

And yet there are those who did not develop antibodies even after revaccination – at least one associate from the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy testified about such findings. Men over 65 have been shown to have the weakest response to the Sinofarm vaccine.

“And it is not uncommon for spouses to meet for tests, for a woman to have good antibody values, and for literally nothing to happen in men, even 30 days after the second dose, or those values are barely measurable. and people are really desperate when they do it. They saw, because they hoped the vaccine would be a solution, “says Marija Gnjatović.

In such cases, Gnjatović says, it is not wrong to consider using the third dose. It is offered in the UAE to those people who have not developed antibodies, while the Pfizer company is considering a third dose after 6-12 months, regardless of antibody level.

“It is believed that this third dose could further improve the functioning of the immune system and, along the way, Pfizer is working to modify the vaccine, that is, adapt to these new mutated strains,” adds Radan.

And while we’re concerned about antibodies, scientists around the world are pointing to hidden immunity in T cells that could be key to fighting kovid. Those who tested negative for antibodies were found to be positive for T cells that are capable of identifying the virus and fighting it.
