SUBOTICA – This morning around 6.30 am, a tragic accident occurred at the level crossing at the exit of Bajmok, in which a Slobodanka U. (31) woman was killed, who was driving a car with Kikinda registration, it was confirmed for Kurir from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office of Subotica.
The accident was reported around 8.30am, it was confirmed for Kurir by Subotica police, and as Kurir finds out, Slobodanka was still showing signs of life, but unfortunately, despite the doctors’ efforts to save his life, he passed away. .
The train was moving from Sombor towards Subotica, at the exit of Bajmok, the train collided with the wagon on the track with all its force.
Slobodanka Ugrinović was driving a golf course, and at the time of crossing the railroad track, as Kurir finds out, the bumpers were not lowered when a 31-year-old woman crossed the track while driving a golf course.
– The investigation has been completed, but it is still being determined whether the driver had an idea if the signage on the railway was incorrect, because the ramp and the bumpers were not lowered, Kurir from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office told Kurir.
In the fog, the car was on the train track at the time the train was passing, which, as claimed by various sources, literally cut the vehicle and dragged it about fifty meters in additional motion over the track.
When the train collided with the car, the unfortunate woman was still showing signs of life, while police and firefighters cut up the car to rescue her from the completely destroyed vehicle she was driving, but it was later confirmed that she passed away.
It is unofficially claimed that the machinist sent a warning to the Serbian railways in the morning that the control signal on the line near Bajmok was not working, that it was faulty, that the signaling was not working, but when the first morning train arrived from Sombor to Bajmok.
Several ambulances arrived at the scene, the firefighters cut the vehicle to remove the unfortunate woman. The investigation has been completed and traffic is passable again on that part of the road, while all the circumstances of the accident and the correctness and safety of the level crossing will be determined later.
