Man Ђ. R. (58) from Velika Plana was arrested on suspicion of beating his unmarried wife DM (46) on the night between Wednesday and Thursday and nearly gouging her eyes out.
As we have learned unofficially, one woman’s eye was completely crushed and her nerve was snapped in the other. According to our source, it is not known with certainty what was the motive for this horrific domestic violence.
– This is not the first time that violence by this family has been reported. Police intervened two years ago and the man was forbidden from approaching the woman, but they probably reconciled later. – She was immediately taken by ambulance to Smederevska Palanka hospital, and due to the severity of the injuries, she was transferred from there to Belgrade to the Military Medical Academy, where she was admitted to the ophthalmological clinic – says the source and adds that DM was operated .

Velika Plana residents who know DM say that she went before Ђ. R. had a marriage from which he has children, who have grown up. – I heard you had children, but I never saw them. And he had reportedly been married before. I saw when the police approached them and I was shocked when I heard what happened – says a neighbor.
– Doctors had not seen something like this before, unfortunately, the woman, apparently, will be blind in both eyes – adds the interlocutor. Neighbors of the spouses say that the arrested Ђ. R. known on his street as a bully and that this is not the first time that he has hit his wife.
– Nothing surprises me about him – says a neighbor and adds that Ђ. R. and DM have been living in your neighborhood for about a year.
– They changed their apartment and supposedly they were in debt to the people, it is said that they have problems with drinking. Whenever he fought with someone, Ђ. R. threatened to gouge out his eyes and as he had done once, he almost brags about it – the neighbors say and explain that they did not hear the fight from their apartment the day before yesterday.
– Who knows what he did to her and how much he made fun of her. The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the Velika Plana attorney general, along with a criminal report.
