A forty-one-year-old user who tested positive for the new coronavirus died at the Home for Children and Young People with Developmental Disabilities in Veternik, H1 learned.

He is a person with Down syndrome and a long-term diabetic, we were confirmed by the Provincial Secretariat for Social Policy, Demography and Gender Equality.

Approximately a third of the users of the Home in Veternik are infected with the new coronavirus.

Kovid-19 was registered in two of Dom’s four wards, and 146 users and 45 employees tested positive by PCR.

More tests are being carried out in accordance with the instructions of epidemiologists, they say in the competent Secretariat, adding that 95% of infected users are asymptomatic cases and that a smaller number have a mild clinical picture.

Likewise, they claim to be aware of the difficult situation of employees, considering that due to the large number of infected people among them, the work has almost doubled.

They add that there are signs that they may soon be able to receive additional labor.

According to the latest data, a total of 689 users and 271 employees have been infected with the new coronavirus in social protection institutions in Vojvodina.
