“As of this morning, the data shows that it was a difficult night throughout the southeast of the country, especially in Nis, Zajecar, Krusevac, Vranje, Presevo. The data is very worrying. In Leskovac, there were only seven hospitalized in the hospital a few years ago. days, now there are 52. The same rule that we had in the first phase reappears, that the number begins to increase first in the north, and then it begins to grow in the south and southeast ”, said Prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović .
He noted as a guest on the Pink TV morning show that the numbers show more testing is being done now than in March and April, so more positive to expect.
– Young people have a milder clinical picture or without problems, they pass asymptomatically. That is good for them, it is bad for the elderly, but that situation is also changing. At KC we note that the population is also working in intensive care, and there are more and more elderly people on mechanical ventilation. This number will grow in the coming days during this week – warns Dr. Tiodorović.
He added that at the end of the week and the beginning of the next, we can expect a small change in terms of flattening the curve.
– Only after December 1 does a slight gradual decline follow. Implement measures and respect them and make ourselves aware of our health condition and responsibilities. It is not about obedience but responsibility, thinking about ourselves and those around us who are at risk. If we all behave in this way, the restriction of work must be understood by all as a necessity. Let’s see what is happening in Italy, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia – noted Dr. Tiodorović.
As he said, “a curfew was not chosen, we did not want to close because we believe we have the situation under control.”
He also referred to the situation in schools, which he noted is quite good.
– The model we adopted paid off thanks to our commitment. That model works. We must commend the behavior of the parents, the educators who gave great commitment. The situation in primary schools is different, it works well, there are about 50 children throughout Serbia and they are mild illnesses. They connect because workers are positive – said the teacher, adding that high school students are a bigger problem because they are more active.
When it comes to winter break, Dr. Tiodorović said his proposal was for it to last from December 19 to January 20, maybe a few more days.
– It is a period in which we can cover large parties and thus be calm so that the children move less. It must be said that it will be the hardest for working parents. As of today, we have requested in Nis that all those who work from home not bring children to kindergarten. Local communities have the right to do that, he said.
The director of the Milan Institute of Public Health Jovanović “Trampoline”, Dr. Verica Jovanović, noted that Belgrade is the largest access point, but also that other larger cities are showing an increase in the number of positive cities.
– There is increasing pressure on Kovid dispensaries, a large number of patients. All people who have indications are tested and one in three people is diagnosed as positive sometimes and more often. The number of young people is being covered and the number of people in treatment is increasing. In hospitals, intensive care parts are very crowded and more and more young people are developing the condition of the clinical picture that requires intensive care – he noted.
As you said, epidemiological measures are crucial.
– We hope that there may be an increase in the next 10 days, but applying measures to reduce that number. With the application of measures, control, above all, of communications and contacts and reduction of unnecessary ones, those that are at risk of being reduced and that will give results – said Dr. Jovanović.
