According to Đurić, in most of Serbia, 20 to 60 mm of rain per square meter is expected to fall, locally more than 70 mm, and in the Belgrade area 30 to 50 mm.

So in some places, more rain will fall in just over 24 hours than the whole of October, and the average amount of precipitation for many parts of Serbia and Belgrade during October is around 50mm. Two days ago, Belgrade already achieved 35mm in less than 20 hours.

– Due to heavy rainfall, a sudden increase in the flow rates of smaller rivers is expected, which could lead to overflowing of smaller rivers and torrent flows at night between Monday and Tuesday and Tuesday . The good news is that a drier period is behind us, so river levels are quite low, but still, as 70mm of rain is expected in some places, we must be careful when it comes to torrential flooding in smaller rivers, especially in the south. central, western and southwestern parts of Serbia – warns Đurić.
