“In the next period, we will not participate in any military exercises or activities with NATO, CSTO, Russia, the United States, China, the EU, the East or the West,” Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin said. .
He said that our participation in peacekeeping operations will be especially considered and, if necessary, suspended.
Vulin pointed out that Serbia is under terrible and undeserved pressure from the EU.
These pressures, as he said, do not make sense and are not based on our decisions, actions, or even reality, and are the result of the hysteria that determines the political decisions and directions of large and powerful countries.
“We are being asked to abandon the planned military exercises with Belarus at the cost of giving up our European future and at the cost of even greater pressure on our politics and on our people in Kosovo and Metohija and RS,” Vulin said.
The Defense Minister recalled that Serbia is a militarily neutral country by decision of the National Assembly.
“In order to preserve the position of military neutrality and avoid, or at least mitigate, the consequences of the intensification of attacks on the country, on our politics and economy, the Government has decided to suspend all military exercises and all activities with all partners for the next six months, regardless. ” Vulin said.
He noted that the process of equipping and strengthening the Serbian army will not stop and that work will be done to increase combat readiness more and more persistently than ever.
“This is the only way to preserve military neutrality, and this painful decision forces us to depend only on ourselves and our strength,” Vulin said.
