Tonight, the European Union deleted the controversial tweet in which the interim president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, was marked as the “President of the Republic of Kosovo”, thus the word “Republic” was missing from the new ad, and only Kosovo remained, writes Kossev.

The European Union announced tonight that EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelji and Vjosa Osmani met in Brussels, and in front of the word Kosovo, the original announcement read “Republic”.

This detail was first noticed by some Kosovo media, stating that Brussels “removed the footnote to Kosovo” at the meeting of EU representatives and Vjosa Osmani, writes Kossev.

Shortly after, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia, Petar Petković, reacted on Twitter, calling the announcement of the European Union inadmissible.

“According to what agreement and when exactly did the EU recognize the so-called Kosovo?” Does that mean that dialogue is superfluous? In the EU, the law of force must never be stronger than the law. Serbia is not naive, we are committed to dialogue, but we respect ourselves and all the agreements signed. That is why we await a response from the European Commission, “Petkovic wrote.

After that, a new ad appeared on the European Union Twitter account, but without the word “Republic”.

Kossev recalled that the agreement on the regional representation of Kosovo, which was reached on February 24, 2012 in Brussels, provides that “asterisk” or “asterisk” be written next to “Kosovo” and that it is the only name that will be used in regional cooperation.

It implies that, in addition to the board on which Kosovo is written with an asterisk, in all attached documents, the text of the footnote must be mentioned at least in the first mention in each individual document, and in the footnote to say : “This inscription does not prejudge the state of Kosovo and is in accordance with Resolution 1244 and the opinion of the ICJ on the Declaration of Independence of Kosovo.”

Kosovo uses the EU with an asterisk in its official documents, writes Kossev.
